About the Photographer
ARTHUR HILLMAN IS A PHOTOGRAPHER, PRINTMAKER AND DESIGNER WHO HAS BEEN EXHIBITING HIS PRINTS FOR OVER SIXTY YEARS. HIS WORK HAS BEEN PRESENTED IN TWENTY ONE-PERSON EXHIBITIONS AND IN MANY NATIONAL PRINT SHOWS AND GROUP EXHIBITS INCLUDING ONES AT THE DULIN GALLERY OF ART, HUNTERDON ART CENTER, NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY, PHILADELPHIA PRINT CLUB, PRATT GRAPHICS CENTER, UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA, BERKSHIRE MUSEUM, WILLIAMS COLLEGE AND THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. HIS PRINTS, PHOTOGRAPHS, DIGITAL PRINTS AND ARTISTS’ BOOKS ARE INCLUDED IN COLLECTIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.
MR. HILLMAN RECEIVED A B.F.A. FROM THE PHILADELPHIA COLLEGE OF ART IN 1966 AND HIS M.F.A. FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AT AMHERST IN 1968. HE TAUGHT AT THE MASSACHUSETTS COLLEGE OF ART FROM 1968-1974 AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE VISUAL ARTS FACULTY OF BARD COLLEGE AT SIMON’S ROCK FROM 1974-2011. HE HAS DELIVERED LECTURES AND PRESENTATIONS ON PHOTOGRAPHY AND PRINTMAKING, JURIED MANY EXHIBITS, AND IS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE BERKSHIRE PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP. HE IS PROFESSOR EMERITUS OF PRINTMAKING, PHOTOGRAPHY AND DESIGN AT SIMON'S ROCK.
